ABOUT BILL

Personal:
I was born in Omaha NE, and shortly thereafter moved to Melbourne FL and have essentially lived in Florida my entire life. I have seen the state transform from mosquito swamps and empty beaches to the hub of international tourism. I have lived with and witnessed the development of central Florida and the condo boom of the coastline with mixed emotions.
My younger years were spent living along the Space Coast and my father worked as a contractor for NASA during the early space exploration days. There was an almost wild west attitude in those days and needless to say it was an exciting time even for kids! I have lived, at various times, along the Atlantic coastline from Jacksonville to Palm Beach and worked as far south as Miami. I have lived and worked along the Gulf of Mexico coastline from Ft. Myers to Pensacola.  Life here on the “Emerald Coast” is one of the nicest places in Florida, it has many of the modern development conveniences but it is not as overcrowded as “South Florida”.

When not at work my prime interests are outside activities. Living in Florida means a lot of time spent fishing, hunting, camping, and at the beach. Offshore fishing is my passion but real estate takes a lot of time and I have to squeeze trips in when there is a chance.

I am a fan of professional football and the Green Bay Packers in particular. I have attended 2 of the top 7 coldest games in Lambeau Field’s Frozen Tundra including the overtime 2008 Championship Game, Brett Favre’s last game. I enjoy a friendly rivalry with other fans but respect the team they support as long as it’s not the “team of the day” mentality. Believe me as a Packer fan I endured a lot of lean years!!
I am married with two grown children, my wife works as a contractor at Eglin AFB. We live a fairly simple life but we do enjoy traveling when we get a chance. We went to Oktoberfest in Munich in 2006 (now that is a party), we hope to visit the western US this year or next year.

Professional:
I am a full-time Realtor and have been since 1999. I do not have any other job that gets in the way of this. My complete focus is on real estate. I started with a different firm in town and soon made a choice to join Coldwell Banker JME Realty (formerly the 8th largest CB brokerage) we are now Coldwell Banker United, Realtors the #1 CB franchise in the world, and have not looked back since.

I do a large amount of my business with active and retired military people from around the world. If you are going to PCS to Eglin or Hurlburt I am your man! Technology, even though I am an “older guy”, is not a problem. I have literally bought and sold property for people that I have never seen, with email and faxes etc.

I have found that I really enjoy this work. While there are long hours and more stress than most people would realize I thrive on getting results for my clients. From about 2002 through 2005 it was not unusual for me to work 7 days a week 10-12 hours a day developing my business. Sometime in 2005 I decided to give myself a raise and I now generally, but not always, take one day a week off.

If you are looking for an agent that is committed to his job you have found him.

NOTE: If you are looking for an agent that is a “yes man” I can refer you to one. I PROMISE that I will give you my honest professional opinion on whatever topic I am allowed by law. You may not always agree, and that is fine, but you can rest assured that I will not sugar coat the truth either about buying or selling. There is far too much on the line here to just tell you what you want to hear.

In my past life, I was a reinforcing steel ironworker, superintendent and subcontractor on high profile, large, construction projects, this helped develop a skill set that is required in negotiating deals, time management and record keeping. Most of the time I worked hundreds of miles from the corp. office so my job involved setting up and hiring a crew, on site management of up to 50 ironworkers, invoicing for work performed, and negotiating change orders etc. between our company, the prime contractor and the Department of Transportation. Primarily I worked on modern high tech bridge projects such as the Sunshine Skyway over Tampa Bay the Acosta over the St. Johns River in Jacksonville and the Roosevelt over the St. Lucie River in Stuart FL. Additionally I worked on the construction of the new Alltel Stadium home of the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars. Iron work was a great career but one served better by younger guys that don’t mind all the travel.
